  1. I want to thank the parent who took the time to create this blog. In today's world, with so many people working and communicating on line, I believe it is a great way to get and share information about our schools.

The only issue I have pertains to the ability to post comments without any accountability under the guise and cloak of "anonymous."

I've read through all of the posts and comments and to date, only one person has had the courage and conviction of their statements to identify themselves for the rest of the Arthur Academy community and for that matter, the world. Some of the comments about recent events, made by anonymous persons who were not witnesses to those events, push the edge of the envelope and border on circulating rumors, a professed no-no of the purposes of this blog.

I see this site as an excellent place to share information, ideas, even opinions. I also believe it would be a better site if people weren't allowed to make comments and hide behind "anonymous." Whenever people speak up to express their thoughts at our parent organization meetings, they don't have the luxury of doing so anonymously and have to exercise restraint to ensure the accuracy of facts they are trying to convey. Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, but when speaking, it is usually obvious when one is stating an opinion.

Why is there a need to have a site the entire world can view, where anyone can post alleged facts, or opinions purporting to be facts, without being answerable to their statements?

  2. This is in response to Bob Snee's comment. First of all, I really appreciate this site. It is important that parents and staff have a 'sounding board' to share concerns or ideas.
I have also noticed that most posts are anonymous as mine will be. We all know what happens to staff who try to let people know what is really going on.
You parents need to ask yourselves why nothing has ever been said about the staff surveys. What was the reason that Mr. Arthur did not want to share any of the staff's concerns?
Is it really even a valid survey? Do you think most of the staff had positive things to say? Who do you think is in possession of those surveys?
Don't you all think it about time for some legitimate answers?
